However all staff are gracious and welcoming The onion soup is superb, with four gras and...local cheese. I had a mixed salad topped with a grilled salmon fillet. The best was dessert: chocolate fondant. Honestly for a chocolate lover, it was the best ever. The hot chocolate fondant on a bed of chocolate crumbs. Beside the chocolate is a disc of salty seed/ nut brittle and beside that a scoop of house made almond ice cream. What a combination : hot, runny chocolate vs salty brittle vs ice cold almond ice cream Wow!
We had breakfast here during our stay at the Fairmont and for the amount of money a simple breakfast cost, you’re way better off going into town. For $13 you get HALF a bagel, my jaw nearly hit the floor. I know you’re paying for...the Fairmont name but even still, it’s exorbitant for what you get.
I would have gotten 0 stars, I would have eaten it very disappointing. we were there for lunch. We understand that the menu must be limited in view of the current personal situation, but that doesn't mean it must be soou usual and that food...solts to be worse than simple. I make better pasta. fish was extremely wide, chic pea soup had no chic heaps and was excessively salty, etc. we expect more, much more from a fairmont restaurant, especially from the historical ch. montebello. we take the time to get there, and we expect a lot more than just standard tariff.
Don't let them be by the fabulous coworkers, the rustic high class ambiance, the food here is terrible. my pan meerrote trout didn't seem like that. the slimy scales and lack any kind of taste conditions otherwise. my sons filet mignon was maybe. a filet, but definitiw not by mignon. this is a cheaper cut of tasteless meat that I can find better in their local food business. there were searing marks or otherwise that seriously ask how this meat, or my teller was cooked. for these dishes it is lacking quality, spice and sides. Many thanks to them that they make this an unforgettable experience that is unforgettable for the worst food I had in a restaurant in the last 20 years. I have other people on our table patterned, short braided, risotto was just as terrible.
We received excellent table service for both breakfast and dinner. Our dining experience was enjoyable, however, the key dishes such as the filet mignon, fish, turkey, and French onion soup were served cold.
