Il Borgovecchio - MONTEGROSSO D'ASTI

We have had a wonderful experience here in Montegrosso D’Asti. Fabritzia and Piero were wonderful hosts. It’s a picturesque village with a view from the hotel room that is incredible. The food at the hotel is delicious and it’s what’s fresh on the day that’s served no menu just what’s been cooked .. we loved it I am definitely coming back but next time with a car to explore as the area is stunning ..

Our stay at Borgovecchio was for us an occasion to try the restaurant of the hotel. Although the menu is very short (in fact its paper version doesn't exist), the place offers excellent typical piemontese dishes, including the white truffle pasta during the truffle season. The fact that owners speak only a very limited amount of English makes the place a truly piemontese experience, provided you understand what you have ordered.

Booked very last minute whilst travelling through the area. Very clean rooms, well appointed and good views across the hills. Good restaurant and nice terrace for dining outside. Excellent food. Rooms would benefit from aircon.

We have had a lunch and a diner at Borchovecchio. The food is excellent. They have a terrace with a beautiful view. The owners prepare everything fresh like pasta, gnocci, vegetable pie. Also try the wild boar as secundo. They serve excellent wine from the region. Phone them in advance. Usually they are closed on Monday.

So for non Italian speakers a bit confusing. A menu which doesn't make clear if a la carte or set and has no prices, also no wine list. The food itself was quite good. Very large portions of pasta and gnocchi, most options about 10 EUR, main course about 20 EUR. Terrace view excellent. Preferred stations, not beautiful but better food.
