Villa Cicolina - MONTEPULCIANO

The restaurant is well worth a stop, offering delicious and ample food with the most hospitable service. Each day there is a “suggested menu” consisting of an appetizer, a pasta, an entree, and dessert, all of which are available a la carte and several steak options are offered as well. A wine pairing of local wines, including a vino nobile of the villa’s own, is available. The food was much better than anything we found in town and the experience was incomparable a reservation for dinner here should be sought out.

We were hot, tired, and did not want to go back out again so we stayed at the hotel for dinner. We ordered 1 menu 40€ and a bisteak fiorentina to feed 3 people and we split the steak and tasting menu 3 ways. We were glad we stayed. This was the best steak we had in 2 week trip to italy and better than most steakhouses in US. The 40€ menu changes nightly and we added 2 more desserts. The best was the chocolate mousse.

Lovely setting. We were sat on the inside of a small pretty cottage as it had just been raining that afternoon normally you sit in the garden it was nevertheless beautiful. The food was very good not what I would class as excellent, but very good. But it was honest, home made and fresh and very much local Tuscan cuisine. What made the night and the venue was the service. Unfortunately I did not get his name but the man who was service everyone was outstanding. He was extremely friendly and welcoming and was always smiling even though he was alone serving a full house of around 25 people. His service was seemless and organised and we never felt we were waiting. He also knew the menu well and was accommodating of special requests. Somehow we got a cheeky 20% off the bill by booking via The Fork so dinner was extremely good value. As such we tipped our man generously and left with full stomachs and happy hearts.

Cibo di qualità, posizione davvero suggestiva e personale super room disponibile. Essendo molto piccolo l'unico difetto è che se vi capita di avere un tavolo vicino rumoroso, ahimè, rovinerete l'effetto magico del posto. Menù molto stretto ma con materie prime di qualità, prezzi medi.
