They have like 4 different kinds of mole , each one intense but different . Also has a combination appetizer platter with 6 or 7 different Oaxacan delicacies, including dried and spiced little grasshoppers
Very affordable prices. Very good Mexican cuisine with authenticate flavor. If you want to try good food then come to this very cozy place. You will fill like your old friend from Mexico invited you to his house. Me my wife and kids liked it!!!
Visited for lunch one afternoon, and ended up spending most of the afternoon there. Everything was delicious. The restaurant is very unassuming, but the menu was diverse and authentic. I had the benefit of visiting with a regular who wanted to share with me his favorites on the menu. They were endless! We waddled off very happy.
We were traveling through the area and had one free night in Monterrey. We were looking for a place to get typical Mexican food. Neither of us spoke/read any Spanish. We decided to come here. First impression: the place looked really nice wait staff wearing ties. Nicely decorated with what I 'm guessing is traditional Mexican style. The wait staff spoke only a little English (some none at all), and the menus are in Spanish only. We had an app that would translate though. With this, we were mostly able to read the menu (most text automatically translated from the camera; more stylized text had to be manually typed). We had some drinks, an appetizer, got two meals, and dessert. We found the portions plenty, but not huge. The food arrived quickly, but after we were finished, no one came by to ask if we wanted dessert or bring the bill. Perhaps I am used to American dining pace not sure. But we asked the waiter, pointed to the dessert we wanted, and he brought it or very quickly. The same for the bill we asked for it, and he brought it quickly. Everything we had was very good, but we had very little authentic Mexican to compare it to.
The atmosphere is very cozy and welcoming with old painting on the walls and antique furniture. We were immediately greeted by a server who had exceptional english which we found rare in MTY. He explained the entire menu to use and gave great recommendations. The mole sauce is insanely delicious! Best food we had in MTY.
