Feedback gevenSeveral people recommended this restaurant to us and we finally decided to see what all the buzz was about. We arrived Sunday at 1:00 pm and no reservations. All the tables in the open air pavilion were reserved but they graciously moved a table out onto the patio so we could enjoy the spectacular view of Mount Taburno. In the distance we could see and hear a couple of donkeys, adding to the rustic feel of the place. But for all the rustic vibe, the food and service was sophisticated and perfect. We split the antipasto of the house which was more than ample for two. There were unique items like a little taste of tomato soup, a ricotta and sundried tomato cream, little squash blossom fritters, a fragrant bowl of white beans with croutons, etcetera. After that we split a plate of pappardelle with porcini mushrooms. We almost licked the plate it was so good. Then we split a baked sea bass, salad and fries. Dessert was a crostata with Strega and a sort of layered pudding cake with layers of custard, peach and apricot, all on top of an almond crust. It was quite good but the crostata was the real winner. All this for under 40 euros. This is a beautiful spot to spend a couple of hours on a warm day, taking in the views and enjoying some really fine cooking.
Visiting from England, was recommended this restaurant, it did not disappoint. The service, and food was amazing, staff are professional and friendly. I asked if I could have some olive oil to take away, as I needed it to make lunch the next day, I was given a small bottle of the most delicious oil. I would highly recommend this place, it is off the beaten track, but worth it.

Was recommended this restaurant whilst visiting Montesarchio, very tasty and HUGE portions ! The staff were very friendly even letting us take some olive oil away as we needed it for our villa. It is up in the hills but well worth a visit
We had a relaxing Sunday lunch after visiting the torre and the archeological museum in Montesarchio. We let the owner suggest a variety of antipasti, including some delicious papa al pomodoro. All showed off the local produce to best advantage. Primi delicious pasta dishes, one with mushrooms and one with mussels and other sea food. We also had some very tender steak. Desserts were to die for tasty and produced with great artistry. Three hours of culinary bliss and a view to die for. And all for about €25 a head.
