Johnston's Meat Market - Monticello

I'm a truck driver, I was just passing through the area and stopped here for groceries, I was very surprised by their selection! Also the neighborly demeanor of the staff here was quite lovely.

They moved the restaurant back to the market. Great idea! Had lunch there today 5/24/23. BQ Chicken, BQ ribs, corn bread, 2 sides and ice tea. All was delicious and southern friendly service.

Sliced bacon at 4.99 a pound. Awesome price. Best customer service. Great prices!

Pork sausage, ground pork, zipper peas, butter peas, cane syrup and BBQ sauce. Nice haul. Only bummer is that the doughnut guys are gone.

Impeccable service and great hospitality. I was born and raised in this area. I live in Tampa. When it comes to fresh meat, I stock up and buy from this store only (fresh sausages, bacon, liver wurst, hog head cheese,etc.
