The outdoor seating is really nice, too bad the prices are high and the personnel grumpy…inside there are art exhibitions, but they never tempted me because they seem boring….
We stopped off for a long cool drink and some ice-cream in the shade of pine trees in this delightful little square (place Saint Roch). We were not disappointed. Their Indian Dream (pistachio and cardamom) ice-cream is delicious! Granted, we didn't have anything else so can't comment on other food, reservations, dinner service, etc.
For more than a decade the Sister's café is a reference in Montpellier. Its mostly and faithfully attended by local workers from neightbooring shops as well as students working in the afternoon. The quality is very good and the prices in line with other coffeeshop around. Not a stupid hipster place, but a great traditionnal romantic place to hang around and enjoy the outdoor seating in beautiful Montpellier. Excellent service, great choice of tea, pies and excellent coffee. I'm a huge fan of their peposo (beef pepper stew) and crumble. Don't come too late as their pies are often in shortage past 3PM. Such a shame they are closed at night!
Euro 7,50 for HALF a piece of tarte and a small black coffee, I can only warn anyone to go there. There are countless places in Montpellier where the service is friendlier, the food is better and where you are served a decent size of tarte.I have to admit I really fell for the nice location and atmosphere, but what can I say: tourist trap! The staff probably thinks tourists will never come back anyway, and in my case, this is so true.
