Great vibe in this St Viateur institution with great selection of coffees and best homemade sandwiches - nice family place with year round terrace unless it is very cold - best early spring hangout in afternoon sun - recommend

Location: In the Mile End, a few doors down from Olimpico. The closest subway stop is probably Laurier and it's a 10-15 minute walk from there. Street parking is available [metered]. Watch out for the residential zones.The place: Small. Brown. Good light. Personally, I found it to be a little cramped and overall, the vibe just didn't work for me.The coffee: They make a good Macchiato and my friend enjoyed her latté. No complaints about the coffee.Service: I don't know if I went on an off day or what - but contrary to its name "Club Social", this place isn't 'social' at all. The baristas weren't friendly and I don't even think they greeted us when we placed our order. No smiles, no warmth - nada. A little disappointing given all the positive reviews, but that's the way it is. I gave them 3 stars because the coffee was good.Price point: On par with other coffee shops in the area.

Locals love this place as it caters to them. But don't worry, they'll make a lovely drink for you as well. Great coffee and lovely atmosphere.

My partner and I were on a historical and cultural tour of the Mile End neighbourhood on the day of our visit to Club Social with our old and new friends and this was our last stop. This is a popular coffee shop with an Italian flavour. We had a delightful time on the outdoor terrace shaded by large trees, enjoying the conversations in good company, refreshments, and beautiful summer afternoon, on August 7, 2015. . We ordered a delicious herbal tea served in a large glass mug and a perfectly made dark roast coffee! The service was prompt, friendly, and professional. We will be sure to return the next time we are in the neighbourhood to try some additional selections of their coffees, teas, sandwiches and desserts.

The macchiato was excellent as it was the Latte , prepared quickly and with no gimmicks. The Hot chocolate was instead a negative and it turned out to be a latte cacao with powder cocoa mixed into the hot milk Great friendly service
