Labarake Caserne A Manger - Montréal

We chose Labarake for it’s strong Google reviews, but our meal was average. Firstly, the menu is only available in French. Our server offered to “help” us but didn’t have much English. I had to translate for our table. Don’t eat here if you’re anglophone. The patio is lovely, but it overlooks a grocery store parking lot. The interior is tasteful and very interesting it’s a historic building. Because it’s a large open space, noise carries, and it was hard to hear even at half capacity. Also, bring a sweater in summer; the air conditioning is much too cold. As a result, our food cooled off very quickly. We had the lobster ravioli, poutine, and vegan plate. The vegan was very yummy, but the cauliflower was a bit undercooked. The lobster ravioli was delicious, but it was overpowered by too much sauce. The poutine was…odd. The gravy was sweet. Overall, this was a three star experience. Everything was okay, but nothing was great.

I really don't like giving bad reviews , as they were very nice. Totally disappointing place the food is mediocre. My burger tasted like frozen meat and had fat bits in it the cheese tasted like rubber. My husband's $50 lobster risotto was sub par as well. Unfortunately, it was a Monday night and we were limited in our choices. This place is NOT worth it at least food isn't. Inexperienced waitress too. Definitely won't be back.

Excellent service, excellent drinks, excellent food, and the atmosphere was great. Our waitress, Sofia, was lovely and attentionate. The oysters were very good even tho they were poorly shocked, but everything else was A1. Would definitely recommend, and will visit again.

We rarely eat at the same place more than once when visiting a new city/country. This is the second time that we had to visit Labarake when visiting Montreal from the States and it was definitely worth the visit! Happy hour oysters, the calamari, gnocchi and roasted duck were phenomenal. We can't wait until we visit again! Sofia, our server, was very accommodating Highly recommend visiting!

Great food! Great Service! Amazing ambiance on the patio! We enjoyed $1 oysters on a Sunday night! Cocktails were super well prepared and were 2 for 1! Highly recommend it when these specials are on!
