Le Vin Papillon - Montréal

We had a fantastic dining experience with excellent service, delicious dishes, and perfectly paired wines. Reservations were necessary due to the limited number of tables at this restaurant.

The food, service, and ambiance at this restaurant are unbelievably delicious in every way. Visits to Canada may be rare, but this place is a must-visit when you are in town.

The food was superb and the service was incredibly attentive. The wine selection was outstanding. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting. As a visitor from NYC, I would say this restaurant is top-notch.

Spent five days in Montreal eating and drinking around the city and Vin Papillon was by far the best night we had. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and far from pretentious. Our server Max was the best! He never rushed us, let us order slowly, and he was soo great with the wine (I like my weird, funky wines and he knew exactly what to bring). It was also very reasonably priced for the amount of food we ordered (which was all incredible). We left so happy and will never stop recommending this fun little restaurant.

Hard to believe a highlight of our visit to Montreal was a carrot eclair (say what?) with thin sheets of carrot piled beneath a paper thin crust, enhanced by a savory but light yogurt sauce. Only in French, the evening's menu also featured crusty crunchy cauliflower baked in chicken skin, lapin cooked to perfection & a divine rhubarb tart. No wonder this is a popular crowded bistro with a lively bar & waiting line outside the door (on a weeknight), which may also account for the somewhat sporadic service.
