Mister Steer Restaurant - Montréal

This restaurant feels like a tourist trap. The food is fine, but way too expensive for the quality. The interior has a cheap, outdated look with fake plywood. The lighting is a strange mix of LEDs and glowing lights, with some not even working. The distracting TVs and the average music make it a typical dining experience. There are definitely better dining options available nearby.

We had a great dining experience at this restaurant with a cozy diner atmosphere and delicious food. This was our second visit after trying Mr. Steer. The menu is extensive with options to suit everyone's taste. The burgers were tasty, but the BBQ chicken was exceptional. The restaurant has a welcoming vibe despite its size.

Went to this restaurant for a bite before a hockey game. Planned to arrive an hour before puck drop but waited 45 minutes without being served. Only had two beers available and ran out of chicken. Didn't even want to stay once the food finally arrived. Can't say if the food was good because it arrived late and we missed the first half of the game. Staff shortages and supply chain issues were blamed, but overall just a bad experience. They used to be busy before games but we still had plenty of time left before the game started. Ended up waiting 1.25 hours.

We came and made our orders. The place was gradually occupied. We received our salad and drinks and were then ignored over an hour. The people who came after us were served. When we asked the manager, he was very aggressive and accused of not understanding and being impatient. There was no excuse and we decided to go without food. We will certainly avoid this place.

Very old school diner atmosphere. Although I did find my burger a touch dry it was tasty and service both times I was there was very friendly. As an English speaker had been a bit hesitant but server was very nice to me and we chatted a bit about the French/English situation. Poutine was nice large portion couldn't finish it. Second time just had some wine. Very reasonable pricing.
