Small (and crowded) Second Cup next to a bookstore and attached to a college. If you're claustrophobic you may not like waiting in a crowd for your drink. Drinks are okay. I got a pumpkin spice one and it didn't taste like much. I tried the marble cake and it was delicious. Also tried something called Baba. It looked like a pastry ball and I thought the woman said it was filled with pudding but it was really just cake with spices, but more solid. I don't think I'd get it again but it's good to try new things. The seating area outside was nice, although there is construction going on in the building so the noise level was pretty high.
We have been to the Second Cup location at 2200 McGill-College a number of times. Our most recent visit saw us order coffee, caffè latte and muffins. The service is efficient and friendly. The regular coffee was served in a disposable cup (i.e. not china even if we ordered for here . (We don 't like this. The caffè latte came in a china cup, and the muffins were served on china plates. This Second Cup location is in an office building, and Second Cup patrons have access to an indoor atrium. This location is popular with students and locals.
Great location 24 hrs, quiet enough music to work or study at night. the cleaning guy/barista on the saturday night we were there though seemed very tense
We stopped in here for coffee and lunch before our college tour of McGill campus. Even though it was a Friday afternoon, and last day of classes, the place was buzzing with students, but mellow. There were a ton of students, but no one was loud. The coffee was excellent (I had the Mocha Cappuccino) and the sandwiches hit the spot. No hot food like soups or chilli. Plenty of seating both in the cafe area, and the back courtyard (part of the back building) where most of the students were meeting and studying. They is a cute small fireplace near the bathroom, which was a nice place to hangout on this particularly cold, Spring day. Service was very friendly and bi-lingual. Wifi was good and reliable so that was helpful. I would definitely come back here again.
