Time Out Market Montréal

I’ve dined at Time Out Market before and enjoyed the Vietnamese menu, which was absolutely fantastic—definitely a five-star experience. This time, though, I opted for the pizza. While it was decent, it didn’t really stand out to me, so I’d rate it an average three stars. Overall, I’d give Time Out Market in Montreal a solid four-star rating. The market features a wonderful variety of options from different kiosks, although I’ve noticed that some offerings are just mediocre. On my next visit, I plan to dive into the more exotic and adventurous menus. Even though the pizza didn’t wow me, I’m excited to explore new flavors and dishes that will truly impress.

Fantastic food, wonderful atmosphere, and excellent music. It's also very kid-friendly! They have a separate area for guests 21 and over where you can enjoy alcoholic beverages like wine and beer, along with two non-alcoholic “bars” — one featuring mocktails and the other serving sodas, smoothies, and juices. The central seating area is equipped with wooden tables and chairs, plus a few high chairs for little ones. During the weekend, a DJ provided great tunes. The menu offers a wide variety of options, including sushi rolls, ramen, pizzas, pastas, and dishes from Mediterranean and Caribbean cuisines.

This is nothing like the original Time Out. The food is overpriced for what you receive. They even offer a tipping option despite the fact that you're not being served at a table. It feels more like a fancy food court with average dishes. We spent $90 for two people, and that didn't even include any alcohol. We had to order our own food and find a place to sit. I would much rather go to a traditional restaurant and pay this kind of price, giving a well-deserved tip to the server. This place is definitely overhyped and falls short of the true Time Out experience.

Despite visiting on a Sunday evening, which is usually bustling dinner time, we easily found seating—there were plenty of options available. There's also an adults-only section with a bar where you can enjoy a drink, whether you prefer a custom cocktail, a bottle of wine, or draft beer. We went for cocktails and were very pleased with our choice. Although the market is situated within a shopping mall, which gives it a somewhat hurried atmosphere with all the foot traffic, it's definitely worth the visit. The overall ambiance is lovely, enhanced by some nice background music. I believe all vendors accept card payments, in addition to cash, and while the prices may be a bit higher than in similar venues, the quality of the food and the excellent atmosphere make it worthwhile. The restrooms were clean and well-maintained. I visited in July 2023 on a Sunday and paid by card.

Time Out Market Montreal is situated within Eaton Center, making it a great central location. If you find yourself in the area and unsure of what to eat, this is definitely a place to consider! With a curated selection of vendors and a spacious food court where you can sit wherever you like, it's perfect for both solo visitors and families. There’s even a mini arcade to keep younger kids entertained. As someone from Toronto, I found it reminiscent of our Assembly Chef’s Hall. I opted for Iberico, which offers Spanish cuisine. The service was friendly, and the staff member was accommodating despite the language barrier. I really enjoyed the Brussels sprouts salad, although I was a bit let down by the pan con tomate because the bread felt stale. My partner chose a chicken sandwich but found it to be a bit dry. Nevertheless, we truly enjoyed the lively atmosphere and the upbeat music.
