Trattoria Il Ritrovo - Montréal

Nothing fancy, but a good neighborhood Italian restaurant. Our fritto misto appetizer of fried calamari, shrimp and smelt was exceptional, whereas our mains of pasta and Italian sausage were good, while our veal cutlets and eggplant Parmesan were just ordinary.......with the veal a mite dry and tasteless and the eggplant too salty for our taste. Service was friendly and prices on par with the quality.

I was pleasantly surprised when I visited a friend in Ahuntsic and tried out this authentic Italian Trattoria. My experience was fantastic! I ordered a Sicilian Pizza with hot red peppers and it was the best Pizza I've ever had. It tasted just like the ones in Antibes Cote D'Azur. The service was also excellent - our waitress was very nice and had great recommendations. I highly recommend this restaurant for its authentic environment, Italian music, and nostalgic atmosphere of Sicily.

I went to this restaurant last Friday night to meet a group of friends. There was live music by a talented performer named Aldo who sang a variety of songs from opera to pop. I highly recommend seeking him out for a show. The food was deliciously presented with generous portions, served hot by the friendly waitress Sandy. I ordered a perfectly seasoned steak while my friends enjoyed pasta, pizza, and meat dishes. The restaurant was bustling with a lively atmosphere and just the right amount of crowd. However, there seemed to be a shortage of staff as it took over two hours to receive my food. Despite this issue, I found the staff to be incredible and the wait was worth it thanks to the entertainment and company of friends. I would still consider visiting this restaurant again for the food and entertainment. If you're looking for a relaxed dining experience with great food, I recommend giving this place a try.

Ample choice of dishes. We were a big group and ordered based on a pre-defined/pre-agreed menu including:· a choice of different antipasto plates (prosciutto, salami, fried calamari, provolone cheese, sun dried tomatoes, marinated egg plants and mushrooms, etc.) with plenty of focaccia bread ( with garlic, cheese and oil)· pennine with tomato sauce (a very simple and tasty dishes cooked to perfection)· a choice of breast of chicken fiorentina, fish tilapia or veal with white wine sauceThe most popular choices were the veal and the chicken breastKids ordered à la carte (mainly pizza)House wine went very well with all of the dishes. Cappuccino at the end was excellent so were the expressos.Highly recommended (on Fridays tripes and cod fish)
