How can I recommend this restaurant to someone? I think they don't care.
We are a family of five revisiting this beautiful city and staying at the adjoining hotel. We have dined here before and we remembered it well enough that we wanted to experience it again. So glad we did, and it did not disappoint! The restaurant...has an old world charm decor with dark wood, leather and large bar mirrors motif. We were greeted and seated by a very attentive and courteous gentleman, who also acted to assist the wait staff. My coffee was perfect and they offered the latte and cappuccino options which the ladies thoroughly enjoyed. The breads, fruit, egg assortment of entrees were so delicious and of generous portions. There was not an unhappy customer in the family. One small caution the freshly squeezed OJ runs at per glass. So the item on the bill for this created a little bit of sticker shock; but that was my oversight, not theirs. If I didn’t make it clear the service and overall experience was excellent. Thank you La Societe we will be back!
Excellent brunch. Food and service were fantastic. Not the cheapest place for breakfast, but excellent value if you want a premium brunch.
Absolutely terrible! My husband ordered Classic breakfast and asked for extra bacon. The dish arrived without the extra bacon and the server said the bread was coming. Well, the bread arrived minutes later. My husband asked for new eggs because he usually eats the...eggs with the bread and the eggs were cold at this point. The bacon was under done, not crispy at all. The potatoes were clearly done in an old oil, to me it looked like it was cooked previously and reheated. The potatoes were way too much seasoned as well. We ate without any coffee because nobody came to check if we wanted more coffee and they were not around for us to call them either. The host/server was friendly, I believe they were under staffed, only servers taking care of leves restaurant (bar and restaurant), there were occupied tables both sides, and I wouldn’t be surprised if one of them was also cooking. I actually felt bad for them.
We got a little lost during the stormy weekend in Montreal and while looking for another breakfast restaurant we passed by this one and just hopped in as I was so cold. The menu prices were a little higher than some BUT OMG, it was...FABULOUS! Seriously, at the end of the day, what is an extra for a fabulous meal and experience. One does get what they pay for . I had the lobster benny and hubster had an omelet. I have had many lobster benny but this was the best by far. And then we decided to continue relaxing and indulge in the unlimited mimosa options which is when our servers (who had been spectacular throughout) really made us feel welcome to stay. What a GREAT relaxing morning in Montreal. Thank you so much to Dianne and Etienne. You guys ensured we will be back again and again (and will probably stay at Loews due to this great experience.
