We found this restaurant online after arriving in Montreux. It’s located in old town Montreux, a short walk uphill from our hotel. We were four hungry travelers, arriving for dinner before the restaurant opened. The chef had not yet arrived, but Daniel let us in the side door, and got us started on what turned out to be a feast, and possibly the best meal we had in Suisse Romande! The chef suggested a charcuterie board as a starter, and we went for it! Great quality meats and local cheeses. We ordered the cheese fondue, served with bread, potatoes, cornichons, and Pearl onions. The day’s special was the endives, stuffed with ham and covered in a cheese gratin. Did I mention cheese is the best in Switzerland? Yum! Next, we had the beef Bourgogne with potatoes au gratin. Yes, we stuffed our faces but made room for the best dessert ever! Meringue with berries and Gruyere double cream! And I thought dessert had to include chocolate! Not here. If you’re in Montreux, don’t miss out on this little gem. Best meal we had during our stay in Montreux. We had the tasting menu and it was all excellent, especially the fondue! C'est ca!
Very cozy place up on the hills. I came sort of early on a weekday and ended up being the only person to dine there my entire meal, but I was fortunate to have the company of Lulu, the cat who lives there! I had the tasting which consisted of the charcuterie board, cheese fondue and dessert. I assume it was meant for two people because I struggled to finish everything, but tried really hard to finish it. Everything was lovely and would come back again if I’m in Montreux in the future.
We made a reservation and when we arrived it was not working. Because we “booked as teenagers” as the owner said (we use the app they offered and not the phone).
