The Bistro On 2nd - MONUMENT

Wonderful experience, great food, service as always

We had apps and a cocktail. The shrimp with Calabrian peppers is out of sight, brussels sprouts were on point, stuffed dates were fantastic and the polenta frites also fantastic. Our server, I forget his name was awesome and the ambiance is like eating in someone’s eclectic home

We were so pleasantly surprised by how excellent the food here was. Both the elk and the bison were incredible! They were seasoned perfectly, the weren’t over cooked, the flavors were very well balanced and the accompaniments paired very nicely. It’s a little small on the inside, but what is lacked in atmosphere is made up for in food quality.

This was my first trip to Bistro, and i was thoroughly impressed. First, the ambiance is great a few small tables a room. You can have conversations! Second, service was personal attentive, but not hovering. And third, they are doing amazing things with food and presentation. I had the best Ceasar salad I've had in years (perfect, obviously freshly made dressing) and the Trout special was unbelievably good. Was it the cheapest meal I had all month? No, but it was undoubtedly the best.

Excellent NYE dinner. Parking: Not bad, we found a spot on same lock as the restaurant.
