The food at Shalimar is very tasty and it is one of the most reasonable priced restaurants in MooloolabaThe drinks are also very reasonably pricedThe service is good The meals are large and it was no problem to take the left overs awayI would return in a heartbeat

With an allergy to garlic, eating out can pose problems but I was not prepared for the contempt and arrogance show by the waiter. I explained my requirements and he asked which dish I would like and was told he would speak to the cook. He returned with the other meals for the table and said EVERY dish had garlic in it. They could give me a potato!!Absolutely disgraceful attitude, but he made sure the other meals were started before giving me the verdict.

One of the best restaurants in Mooloolaba!!!We came twice during our week visit because it was so good!!! The service was outstanding the gentleman who runs it I presume is the owners is absolutely lovely and very knowledgeable! I'm gluten intolerant and he knew exactly what was in every dish. The food portions were good for the price and very very yummy!! I need to make a very special mention about their mango lassi which was absolutely amazing!!!!! We talked about it all week!! Perfect blend of real mangos and yoghurt. The food comes very quickly! If you want a cheap, fast, delicious meal, with friendly attentive staff look no further than Shalimar Indian Restaurant!

My wife & I wanted a light meal so we ordered 1 Chicken Madras, 1 steamed rice, 1 peshwari naan, 1 entree of vegetable samosas & 2 beers. When we paid the bill I asked for the receipt and noticed that he's charged us for 2 orders of steamed rice. When I queried it he said that I'd ordered 2. When ordering the meal he repeated back to me, an order of 2 peshwari naan and I corrected him, insisting thta it was only 1 that we wanted. However, when I queried him on the double order of rice he just turned and walked away as if I was wrong. I think that he deliberately increased the order even though it was obvious that, apart from the beer, I only wanted one of each item. I wouldn't go there again on principle as he had no time for me when I queried the bill. It wasn't a lot of money but if he does it when there are only a couple of items on the bill, who knows what he tries to get away with when there's a crowd of well oiled men knocking back the beers as there was on this evening.

Purchased buttered chicken and rice take away excellent value. Straight out the surf club across the road. Great dine in as well I was told.
