The Boathouse Restaurant - MOOLOOLABA

Yesterday we had a lunch booking for a large group to celebrate a 21st birthday party at 12.30.Mooloolaba is crazy busy at the best of times and we were running a few minutes late. When we arrived the young snobby girl at the restaurant entry asked "do you have a booking" in such a snotty tone and no hello or welcome.. so I advised the group name and time only to be advised "we don't take bookings for 12.30".. this was said without even checking the reservation book. I kindly replied "well we do have a booking".. so she looked and said "ohhhh there it is", but then quickly added "well you are ten minutes late, we've given your table away". This was said without a single care in the world.. no sorry, no offer of how long a new table would be, nothing!Meantime, another couple who had no reservation, but were off the visiting cruise liner were walked straight in and given a table!!!Absolutely pathetic service, rude staff and policy that obviously puts kick backs from cruise lines over booking patrons..I'll never be back, all of the other members of the birthday celebration will never be back and we will be telling as many people as we possibly can to NEVER go to this establishment.

Often pop here when in the town. Staff are friendly and helpful in my opinion and experience. The views are amazing and tables are allocated on a first cone basis so get there early in busy periods to secure the best view. That said you will enjoy a stop here. Drinks are reasonable and the food is pretty typical club food but usually good. Worth a stop even if you just want a drink.

Tried to make a booking for 10 people but only take bookings for 5.30pm -(who is ready for dinner at 5.30pm), We explained that we were at golf till 5.00pm but not prepared to help.Seated us at 7.00pm and then asked us to vacate as the table was booked for another group but after we grabbed all our drinks another waitress then said we could stay as they were clearing it for us.Food was average to say the least and orders were confused when they did arrive. very poor.

Good value food and reasonable service given on Friday night they were pretty busy, including a wedding function upstairs.

You can count on Surf clubs have the best views in Australia. You can usually count on standard club Bistro menu and standard. This one is no different very busy and pumping out reasonably good food at reasonable prices.
