I went here for dinner with my family over the weekend. The staff was very friendly, and the place was kept very clean. I got bbq ribs and a pulled turkey sandwich. The ribs were good, though not as fall off the bone as I would have liked. The pulled turkey sandwich was awesome, though, and I got a fair amount of turkey, but I would have appreciated a second bun. The fries were great as well. The real highlight for me was the Carolina Gold BBQ sauce. It tasted brand new to me, but was the perfect complement to my meal, and may be a new favorite sauce of mine. Finally, for the type of food, the pricing was right in line with what you'd expect to pay. Would go again.
The Fargo location isn’t fancy, and they were a bit understaffed due to a family medical emergency that kept them closed for most of the week, as noted on a sign at the entrance. There were only two servers on duty, and both were working hard, but we only waited a few minutes to be seated. Our friendly server informed us that the ribs were currently on the smoker, and I went ahead and ordered the Lean Brisket, Baby Back Ribs, Baked Beans, and Mac and Cheese. Deb opted for the Brisket French Dip sandwich. The brisket and ribs I had were outstanding—truly the best I’ve tasted since our trip to Charleston, SC over 30 years ago when we discovered Bone Suckin’ Sauce! My brisket was served hot, tender, and juicy, with an amazing crust. The ribs were just perfect, with a great bite and chew; they had the ideal amount of resistance when pulling them off the bone, and they were so moist and meaty. I can hardly express how delicious they were. The baked beans were also tasty, while the mac and cheese was creamy and fresh—definitely not from a microwave! Deb thoroughly enjoyed her soft, warm hoagie roll filled with freshly sliced brisket and provolone cheese, accompanied by a hot and flavorful au jus for dipping. She also had a side of coleslaw, which was simple, fresh, and flavorful. We added a glass of water and an iced tea, and our total came to just over $35. We will certainly become regulars and will return whenever we’re craving barbecue. You really have to try this place!
(Note: Here on the windswept prairie, we refer to the evening meal as supper.) The Fargo location is not large or fancy, and they were a bit understaffed due to a family medical emergency that caused them to close most of the week, as noted on a sign at the entrance. Despite having only two servers who were clearly busy, we only had to wait a few minutes to be seated. Our friendly server confirmed that the ribs were on the smoker, and I ordered the Lean Brisket, Baby Back Ribs, Baked Beans, and Mac and Cheese, while Deb chose the Brisket French Dip sandwich. This location doesn't measure up to the other one for several reasons. The portion sizes were smaller, ribs are only available on Fridays, and there was no server to assist us. The cashier was also inattentive. I asked for my order bin but didn't receive it, and when I requested sweet potato fries, they never came. I asked for ketchup, but that didn’t arrive either. When I requested water, I later realized at the table that she hadn’t mentioned anything about it, and I discovered there were cups by the soda machine. While the other location deserves a solid 5 stars, this one definitely needs some improvement.
