The wings had good flavor but were luke warm at best. The chili was downright cold (although again a good flavor). Service was extremely slow and we couldn't flag anyone down to help remedy the cold food problem. The second night there were 11 of us. They had a lot of problems handling a large party. I ordered the ribeye medium rare and it came out rare and cold. I did send this back and the waiter admitted there had been a mixup and they served me a frozen steak. (So beware). Others in our group shared a meal only to learn at the time of payment there was an $8 charge for a shared plate (and all they received was an extra side). Parties of 8 do get a gratuity added to the bill but it is not on the itemized bill only the credit card receipt with a blank line for more tip so beware.
The customer service was good. But the food was terrible the omelet was burnt looked like a pancake and when we asked to have it redone we were told that it will come out the same way 20 minutes. For dinner I ordered asparagus with chicken and the asparagus was well over cooked and looked horrible. I will never eat there again. Not worth the money, I would drive for be to the next town to eat rather than eat there. most likely, the only reason they are open is because they are the only choice for restaurant in within 11-12 miles.
An unexpected gem! It was pouring down rain when we arrived to the campground, so we were delighted to find that they had a restaurant on the grounds. Now we would have been happy with just about anything we didn't have to cook in the rain, but the food here was incredible. The elk medallions and trout both blew our last fine dining experience out of the water, and it was way cheaper. The service was friendly and attentive. We had such a good experience that we came back for breakfast, which was also amazing!
We visited the restaurant a week before Yellowstone National Park Closed due to flooding in June 2022. We enjoyed the breakfast so much that we came back (from Jackson Lake Lodge) the next morning for another breakfast. The (ordered, not buffet) dishes were good and Rebecca (from Michigan) served us very well.
The restaurant was great, the best food and experience in the whole Grand Teton/Yellostone area. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner and we liked what we had in all three occasions. The trout and elk medallions were pretty good. I also tasted a local beer (Snake River Ale) that was decent. The best was in the dessert. The S'mores Brownie is the best my wife and I ever had in our lives. Picture attached. Pretty special. For breakfast, they had buffet (which my wife liked) and I had the Mountain Platter (maybe not the exact name) which was a huge tasty meal for $15. Awesome bang for the buck. Service was also good. Specially, I want to give a shout out to Madeleine. She went out of her way to entertain our baby and allow us to enjoy our breakfast while our baby enjoyed his time with her. If you stay at Headwaters or if you just drive in between the parks, I recommend to have a meal here for sure.
