This fabulous retro feel cafe/restaurant is a place to chill for Sunday brunch, or to meet friends for lunch. Coffee and milk shakes are well priced and made with love as is the entire, varied menu. Children and special dietary needs are catered for. There is much to see, read and do whilst waiting for meals to be served. Of special note are the fabulous Golden Books that coffee (and a special treat that accompanies each cup) is served on. I challenge you not to comment "I remember reading that book." or stating "My grandma had one of those."Only negative that we found is large groups are sometimes poorly catered for. Meals come out at different times causing some patrons to eat cold food, or watch friends eat whilst waiting for their food to be served.
Amazing retro decor, the outside area is cute too. And good food. Plenty of vegetarian options for brekky.
They've gone to a lot of trouble to create an interesting decor with 1970's memorabilia covering the walls and hanging from the ceiling. When I was having dinner there was an art class painting on the other side of the room. My group was sitting a Ping Pong table. So it was a different, zany, energising and fun place to eat. It was the last thing I expected to find in Moranbah. I enjoyed the setting. There was a variety of dishes with more restaurant food than pub food. The meals were very generous proportions and didn't take too long. The food itself was not stunning, but was interesting, filling and tasty. The service was not particularly attentive because the staff had to run the bar, but our orders were taken in a short time and they were happy to split the bill.
Come here for lunch with my family on my bday and from the get go the lady that served us didn't seem interested at all in making us feel welcome. I know people have bad days but you work in hospitality so cheer up and make your customers feel important because after all we keep your business going. The atmosphere here is great and we love the decor and kids section. Food was good not great but the service for me ruined my bday lunch.
Great place to visit for breakfast, lunch or light dinner. Fabulous coffee and friendly service. The breakfast bruschetta is delicious and the pancakes are huge. Lunch just isn't the same now that the quesadillas are off the lunch menu, although I am quietly hoping they'll return soon. This is a fun and quirky restaurant with plenty of memorabilia from days gone by. It also offers a pop up barber service quite regularly. My favourite place in town!
