I'm an avid all day breakfast person, I'll go have one somewhere different every fortnight and I will be coming back here for most of those! It's a bit out of the way for me but definitely worth it. The staff are also outstanding!
The food and coffee were fine, but at $9.50 for a toasted sandwich, I thought the prices were too high. Inside was hot from the kitchen (even though the day was cool), so I ate outside, but was dominated by smokers nearby. There was a good variety of food from cakes, focaccie, and some hot food. A sign said a liquor licence had been applied for.
Two and A Half Beans has opened in the last year or so. It's a welcome addition to the Keilor Road Coffee Strip. The food is modern Australian, with some Italian influences thrown in -- typical cafe fare, but it's well done. The service is attentive, without being pushy. Two and A Half Beans serves good coffee. They have decaf. I had a long macchiato, -- definitely not decaf, I need my caffeine in rhe morning. it was actually served hot in a long glass with some milk froth on top, just as it should be. Sounds simple, but more often than not a long mac is not served correctly. It's a good place for a morning coffee, you can sit outside in the sunshine and catch some rays..
A review of La Tortilleria. It was a last-minute decision to go there for dinner because we couldn't decide what to eat. We hadn't had Mexican food in a while, so we were excited to try it again.
While waiting for my order inside, I was so captivated by the atmosphere that I forgot all about my food.
