Everything was exactly as we ordered and incredibly fresh. She was friendly and very helpful, so we decided to give her a tip right there in the car. This restaurant consistently offers excellent service and delicious food, with generous portions that are more than enough for one sitting.
This place is a hidden gem with fantastic prices, especially for someone coming from a bigger city. The portion sizes are generous, and the pork was delicious—neither dry nor overly seasoned. They even offered a Kentucky-style sauce, which was a nice touch. The dessert was amazing; I've never tried anything like a "sinker" before, and I absolutely loved it! Our waiter was a friendly and attentive young man with a great smile. I would definitely return to try more items from the menu, as I’m sure they’re just as good! It’s just a short drive from Hickory.
I probably should have chosen one of the BBQ options, as that's their specialty. Instead, I went with the Grilled Chicken Club, which was just okay—the chicken was quite dry. I also ordered fries on the side, but they seemed like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for too long. They lacked any crispness and were rather soggy. We did indulge in the Nanner Puddin' for dessert, which turned out to be the highlight of our meal. While I don't like to give negative reviews, I aim to be honest, which is why I’m giving this place four stars.
One person in our group ordered banana pudding with her meal, but it never arrived. When the waitress came to confirm everyone's orders for the checks, they inquired about the banana pudding. Initially, the waitress appeared confused but then said she would check on it because they often run out. However, when she returned with the checks, she didn’t mention the banana pudding at all. When someone asked if she had looked into it, she mumbled that they were out of it. Another member of our group happened to run into a different waitress in the restroom and asked her about the banana pudding, only to be told that they still had some. It’s unfortunate that it seems we were misled about something as simple as banana pudding. Overall, while the service left a lot to be desired, it did seem like they were short-staffed. The food was excellent, and we had a great time catching up with each other despite the issues. I’d be willing to give it another try. Roxy Tate, SC/NC REALTOR, eXp Realty.
We decided to stop here on a whim after noticing the sign while passing through the area, and it turned out to be a delightful surprise. The sausage is homemade, and the seasonings were spot on. Their version of the French dip was fantastic, and the kids' menu offered excellent options too.
