Cook Out - Morganton

Cookout is a staple of everyday life for me as someone who works and goes to school full time and who also works late nights. I've been to every Cookout in a several county radius at least once and I can confidently say that this one is the best! I stopby regularly for lunch after school, and also for dinner when I have to work late, and the food is always fresh. Even thegrilled chicken sandwiches are never dried out or old tasting which speaks volumes. I also deeply appreciate that this locationserves fried okra. I love okra and most of the cookout locations near me don't. I actually live closer to the Shelby Cookout. Igo to school and work near this location, but even when I'm leaving from home for a cookout run, I'll drive the few extra milesto go here instead because it's so much more consistent with quality (and did I mention okra? Rarely, if ever, have I receivedan incorrect order here, and if I have it was something small like a missing condiment. The employees here go the extra mile toensure accuracy and prompt service, and they're all very polite. Tonight I worked over two hours due to some pressing issues atwork, managed to pull in 10 minutes before closing, and I STILL got fresh food and great service. To all the Morganton cookoutemployees: if you're reading this, thank you for being there for this hungry, tired girl no matter what time of day or night.Not all heroes wear capes.

Was really good until my last visit. I ordered a cheeseburger and it came close to coming back up. The burger had burnt pieces all over it. It was so nasty. Tasted like burnt charcoal.

This place has really gone downhill! I’ve been a loyal customer since they first opened, and the food used to be fantastic, with the shakes being even better. I used to go every day for years just for a shake. I've spent hundreds of dollars there, but today I’m officially done! The last 8 or 9 chocolate shakes I’ve ordered have been terrible! It seems like they can't make a proper chocolate shake to save their lives. I spoke to the manager and politely mentioned my concerns since I do invest a lot of money there and expect to get what I ordered. It’s either overloaded with chocolate to the point of being disgusting or there's barely any chocolate in it at all. Plus, the grease they’re using for the okra seems like it’s been sitting around for weeks! I'm frustrated with wasting my money at Cookout for subpar food. My girls and I will be looking for a new lunch spot!

The portions are smaller than I recall, but the tray is still an incredible value. My favorite sides are the fries and the corn dog quesadilla.

They have the BEST milkshakes and a wide variety of flavors in town! The food is really good and quite affordable, as long as they get your order right. They fulfilled my order correctly, but I noticed that three people who came before me had issues with theirs. Despite that, it’s still one of my favorite fast-food restaurants around!
