Burke's Motor Inn - Morris

Adding this as a restaurant as their other listing only appears as a bar. The bar is out back for sure but the restaurant needs to be recognized! Who would have thought one would find the former Gasthaus Gutenburger hiding in Morris! Here they are and while they don't have the big Friday buffet the Gutenburger was know for, they do have an interesting and tasty mix of basic dishes. Sadly I chickened out and didn't go for the grilled cheese and peanut butter gourmet sandwich, just the chicken club. The fixins were nicely done and very good rye bread. The chicken was tender but I would have liked a little more bacon. The side of fries was generous and they looked like hand-cut. The BLT was also tasty. The soup of the day was beef vegetable which was very rich. The staff are very friendly and if you need something, just say the word and they'll make it happen. They also offer an assortment of fresh baked pies for dessert, sadly we were too stuffed to try one so we settled for the freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. Mmmmm. Great little stop with very reasonable prices.

The whole place is yuck. Food, service, prices and cleanliness. They need to cook better, clean better, and hire more friendly staff.
