La Cocina Mexican #9 - Morrisville

I’m still a huge fan of La Cocina! You have to try their new menu item: the tender ribeye steak a la Mexicana (just ask for it without tomatoes). V and the staff continue to impress—they’re fantastic! La Cocina is my go-to neighborhood bar. The drink specials are outstanding, but the service is even better. I'm a big fan of all their dishes featuring steak and shrimp; they definitely don’t skimp on the shrimp! The wings are a great size and also delicious. My new favorite has to be their fish tacos—absolutely amazing!

I absolutely love this place! The chicken soup is incredible, and the salsa is probably the best you'll find anywhere!

I've visited both the East Garner and Cary locations four times, but this was my first experience at the Morrisville location. I noticed that the lunch portion for my shrimp fajitas seemed a bit larger than what I got in Cary. The food was absolutely delicious and consistent across all locations. I've officially made this my go-to spot for Mexican food, visiting at least twice a week when I'm craving that comforting California flavor. I learned that the owners are from California, and the dishes reflect the quality I find there. I no longer feel the need to search for better Mexican food—I've finally found it! The meals are that good, and I usually finish my leftovers quickly! This was the leftover portion I had after devouring two fajitas, which was enough for at least three more to take home. I also really love their hard shell ground beef tacos; they are much better and quicker at lunch than anything you'd get at Taco Bell!

This was our third visit to this restaurant, and today, April 16, 2022, we had another fantastic experience. The owner is a great guy who always offers me a military discount. The food is beautifully presented, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The wait staff are incredibly friendly and attentive to detail. This is a must-visit Mexican restaurant! The carne asada with rice and beans was delicious and tender. I will definitely be returning!

The Chicken Nachos were fantastic! We loved coming here for lunch after church.
