Holy Grill - Mount Evelyn

Unfortunately, this restaurant has closed down. The gnocchi and risotto were delicious, but the service was lacking.

We came on a Saturday morning and just wanted coffee and something light. They made us an off-menu toasted cheese and tomato sandwich. It was well made, had some salad on the side and was inexpensive. The restaurant had a pleasant outlook and the staff brought us iced water without having to ask. The coffee was quite drinkable.

As a first-time visitor with an open mind, I decided to give this restaurant another chance. My initial impressions were positive as the phone booking was handled in a friendly manner. However, upon entering the restaurant, I was overwhelmed by the strong smell of oil. This unpleasant odor was a major deterrent for me, as even fish and chip shops don't smell as oily. The service was decent initially, but the staff seemed to lose interest as there were only a few tables occupied. They did not return to offer more drinks. Despite hearing that the food took a long time to arrive, I expected a quicker service since the restaurant was not busy. Unfortunately, we had to wait about 45 minutes for our basic meals. The burger was delicious and fresh, while the salmon was decent. However, the parma was very disappointing with poorly cooked chicken, oily and non-crispy crumb, and high prices compared to competitors in the area. The lack of standout qualities and stiff competition may explain why the restaurant was empty. I may give this place another try in the future, but I won't be in a hurry to return.

Next been here before but had high hopes. Very disappointing. Nice waitress and hot drinks but breakfast was terrible. Got eggs Benedict and had soggy toast with salty spinach and thick acidly hollandise sauce. Never again.

The last 2 times have not been great No dressing on the mains salad It’s all well and good serving a massive chicken parmigiana however if an average person can’t get through 3/4 of it what’s the point. Sadly it’s wasteful Service was lacking; said they were understaffed (it was a Saturday) This place has had many name changes with each struggling this one is unfortunately no exception.
