I recently visited Jersey Oven (after a hike in Long Hunter State Park) for a sesame bagel with vegetable cream cheese and a half dozen assorted bagels. Even though I live in Murfreesboro, I don't mind driving 35 minutes to Mount Juliet for Jersey Oven's delicious bagels every day. No complaints here - it's much closer than New Jersey and there are no tolls on 840. Next week, I might even branch out from my vegetarian/pescatarian diet and try a pig roll sandwich. I can't wait!
The restaurant is not cheap when it comes to ingredients, but my ham, egg, and cheese bagel was lacking in flavor. I was disappointed that they didn't offer speck, which must be a Jersey thing. Additionally, I ordered a cream cheese bagel without realizing it only came toasted upon request. The atmosphere became tense when I asked for it to be toasted, and both the manager and the server seemed upset. Even after receiving my food, they didn't respond when I thanked them and wished them a good day. The staff seemed very unfriendly. I may give the restaurant another chance to try a different dish, as perhaps they were just having a bad day. Hopefully, they can improve and change my opinion.
I am thrilled that this restaurant exists. Every bite made us feel like we were in the northeast. The bagels were fantastic!
On a French toast bagel the pork roll, the egg and the cheese. it was cooked by the owner of the load. great eating and would recommend to breakfast or lunch.
Someone where I work brought us bagels this morning from Jersey Oven! I have to say these are the best bagels I have ever eaten! Looked them up on Facebook and seems they are great at helping out their community as well! I will definitely be a customer in the future!
