However, when my 2 roommates and I went out to lunch here, two of us who ordered sushi got really sick (likely food poisoning). We suspect it might have been the rice because we ordered different rolls. It's disappointing because I really love sushi and Midori, but it's something to keep in mind when ordering from here
Went here after hearing that this place is good. I’ve never waited over an hour for ywo rolls and sitting with empty water. This was a disappointing experience. I’ve never waited longer than 20 minutes at any sushi restaurant I’ve gone to. The quality of the sushi was a bit mushy once we got ours. For what we paid, this place is not worth it and I would not recommend it after this experience.
1. To sit at a table they demanded my name and phone number, for an open table. 2. Our waitress B'Elanna spoke to us with this fake mean girlies annoyed to be working tone. 3. We were excited for the NA cocktail menu, but was quickly shot down as the waitress told us they don't really carry those but can try to approximate. Got the blackberry nojito. It was OK but not 13 dollars good. (Update: they didn't charge us full price, thankfully for the drinks, charging $12 for the 2 which was fine. 4. The sushi menu and specialty rolls left much to be desired. The lack of raw fish, and corresponding prices for phoned in pedestrian rolls was disapointing. Skipped ordering sushi. Better options elsewhere in town. 5. When they say small plates they mean it. The scallop starter was good. Salty without the apricot sauce. But it was 2 scallops. Left much to be desired. 6. Edamame was fine. Hard to mess up. 7. The atmosphere is VERY LOUD. We knew everyone's business. There is a lack of sound absorption from the brick walls. There are no wheelchair accessible low tops. ADA RED FLAG. Overall, its fine. Its trying way to hard for something its not. It likes to turn it's nose up at other people, when its merely masquerading as a sushi lounge. Mt. Pleasant deserves better. Vegetarian options: Yes there is a large vegetarian menu. Lots of gluten free options. But I don't recommend this place to anyone. Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options. Parking: Typical downtown parking. Use one of the local free lots if you can't find street parking. Kid-friendliness: This is not welcoming for kids. Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible. And they will also treat you like ****. No low top tables at all.
Nice, quiet atmosphere. Saturday, early evening wasn 't too busy. I would think that because there weren 't a lot of patrons there that I would get my food exactly as ordered, which was basic. I ordered steak, the waitress asked me if I wanted medium rare...I said medium. I received well-done... not even close to what I ordered. When the waitress came to check on our table, I showed her that the steak was well- done and all she said was oh, yea ... and continued making her rounds. I was a little taken aback by her careless reaction. If I had the time to wait, I definitely would 've asked her to take it back. The plate looked good, just wasn 't the way I ordered. So... my advice is this is not the place to go when you 're in a hurry. Steak wasn 't great... probably because they cooked all the flavor out of it. Shrimp appetizer was good. I guess I just expected this restaurant to have better quality.
Food was awesome. Drinks were great. The server named Lindsey waited on us. She’s probably the best server I’ve honestly ever had. Highly recommend!
