Double J Cafe - Mount Repose

I hate when I forget to take photos of our food.Nevertheless, this is a very nice family run business. This place is close to Stonelick State Park; which is where we camped this weekend. Very nice atmosphere, the lady that took our order invited us back for breakfast and gave us menus so we could decide. They were very quick with preparing the orders, the food was freshly prepared, and the portions were plentiful. We love supporting small and local businesses, and this is one that we will continue to support when we are in this area.

Their Saturday breakfast is my favorite in the area. Haven’t been for dinner yet but can’t wait. You’re greeted at the door with a smile and the food is delicious. This is the real deal homemade mom and pop shop that you are looking for! Highly recommend!

This is truly a family place. I had the double j, a 1/3 pound hamburger with caramelized onion and bacon. This was wonderful. My wife had a half rack of ribs. They were good, but she liked the cheddar cheese soup even better. The best dish of the night was a beer battered cod. With sides of BBQ beans, and Mac cheese, this was the hit of the night. Nothing fancy! But everything was well done!

I put in a special order for a pie for an event through Double J Cafe. They closed without notice the day of my scheduled pick-up. Drove half an hour to pick up the pie to find a closed sign on the door. No efforts were made to notify me that my order could not be fulfilled. Very disappointed in the poor service.
