Molly’s Kitchen And - Mt Carroll

Amazing food and atmosphere and Sarah is the best server. Must visit!

What a gem in RURAL Mt Carroll, IL. I’ve been coming here a few times a year since they opened, and usually staying upstairs at Molly’s Inn their sister property and COOL downtown hotel. They ALWAYS knock it out of the culinary and hospitality park. Inventive and unique craft cocktails from a well stocked bar. Plus an experienced, talented, and expert bartender/server. I enjoyed a very cool tequila/mezcal concoction before dinner, a perfectly paired (suggested by the bartender) saki/coconut cocktail with dinner, and a hard to find neat Famous Grouse afterwards. And WHAT a great, as always, seasonally adjusted menu. My poke bowl w/sushi grade tuna was as good as anything you’d find in places a LONG way from Carroll County, IL population less than 20k. As per usual, a truly great dining/drinking experience at Molly’s. The only caveat would be the group of six 30 40 year old “men” behind me who apparently have NO CLUE how to act/speak/interact in a place other than a drunken bachelor party….which, I can assure, they were not a part of on a June Thursday evening at 7pm. Anyway…

We've never had anything but a fabulous experience at Mollys, everything from the service, food drinks is a 10/10. I recommend Mollys to anyone who will listen! It's worth every minute of the 40 min drive.

Two dining. Molly's is a gem of a restaurant with exceptional dining. We have been here sever times each of which were divine. The menu is small but very creative and delicious. Had a hand crafted Zombie made with three kinds of rum and Dale's Pale Ale. Delicious ribeye and chuck large burgers with garlic aioli and onion straws. Fabulous Hawaiian Chicken with Lime Salt Cabbage side. The Hummingbird cake for dessert was delicious. Jim our waiter highly attentive and friendly.

My third time there, love this place, never a bad meal. The only thing I didn't like was, we had to wait next door at the pizza place for our table to open up and had some drinks, that were pretty amazing but couldn't bring our drinks with us or get the same ones at Mollys! Even though we saw employees go back and forth helping out? Otherwise love this place!!!
