Trattoria Donna Maria - München

Amazing food, great atmosphere and very cosy. This is for sure my new favorite place in Munich. All things are homemade by Maria and you can feel her passion.

14 Feb. 2017 I reserved on January for two person and the table was put in a hall in front of a door. The service is incredibly poor and the menu is only expensive but the quality doesn't fit the over price. A couple left the restaurant without eating.I higly recommend to choose another restaurant.

A warm welcome, home made food, very well cooked.We had various antipasti (beef Carpaccio was best), the house`s Special (fried octopus), a tongue-melting Ossobuco, a lot of wine and some desert. In the end we paid EUR 60/person for really good food and found it was well worth it.

The restaurant is so small that we would have missed hadn't we had the exact address with house number. There are only very few tables and unless you make a reservation you stand no chance to dine, and that is not only because the place is tiny. There is no permanent menu but a blackboard with regularly changing dishes, with a good choice of starters, "primi piati" which is pasta, and "secondi piati" which is mostly meat; the only disappointment was that there was only one dessert on offer.The food is freshly cooked by Donna Maria herself, and our waitress was very knowledgable about each dish, not so about the wines though (there is no wine list). Speaking about the (only) waitress, her friendliness seemed superficial and arduous, yet she is efficient. The food was excellent and came in mainly fairly large portions, and is worth its money albeit on the upper end, relatively speaking.Recommendable hidden gem!

This place claims to be Italian. How can you serve a dish of pasta uncooked and full of water, with some spinach leaves on top, a bit of tomato sauce and some mozzarella??? this dish is totally nonsense ad no Italian would ever think of making up something like this.The waitress was very kind and partially disappointed the performance of the chef.
