17th Street Barbecue - Murphysboro

I'm not sure if we caught them on a bad day! We heard great things about them so we checked it out. I was disappointed to say the least. The potato salad was great though!

Stopped in for lunch. Food was good but waited 40 min to get our food. There Wings are the best in town.

I don't know who taught this place how to cook BBQ, but this food was very disappointing. I'm from the south and this was disgusting. I have never had BBQ that had no flavor without adding BBQ sauce. Ribs are supposed to be tender enough that they fall off the bone, the ribs here were dry and had no flavor. The brisket was tender, but no flavor. The pulled pork was tender, not very moist and had no flavor. The best part of the of everything we ordered was the baked potato. I am a retired Chef and this place should be ashamed of their food.

On April 16th ordered food for my birthday. I called and told them about the food and they made it right the next day. When we got home and was getting the food out of the bags my brother noticed a surprise in the bag for me the birthday girl. I highly recommend this place to eat they make their mistakes better and their service is excellent their food tastes great and the people are friendly absolutely love their food

Great bbq, festive atmosphere, and a quality timeless establishment with plenty of parking.
