Old Rome - Murphysboro

I've been visiting this restaurant with my family since I was a child. When I was younger, it was called Old Rome and had a different building, with a restaurant on one side and a more casual atmosphere on the other. Over time, things have changed; it’s now primarily a bar setting. As an adult, I love living nearby and enjoying my free time there. Service: 5 stars.

I felt compelled to share my thoughts after reading the last review. This place is clean, and the staff is friendly. Every time I've visited, I've had a wonderful time with friends. Yes, they host a few Jeep events each year, including Polarpalooza around Christmas, which benefits a children's charity. It’s not a biker bar, so you won’t find loud motorcycles everywhere. This is a classic neighborhood bar that burned down a few years ago and has since been rebuilt in a clean, modern style. That bar was likely around long before the so-called "old Karen" mentioned in the previous review! It’s unfair to post a negative review based solely on hearsay. They’re interested in your actual experience, not the opinion of a friend of a friend whose uncle knew someone. Or perhaps you’re just an upset older lady who has never even stepped inside?
