The service was excellent as we were seated promptly at the sushi counter. The wait staff was very attentive as well. One of the best surprise was the crispy and delicious tempura! Everything was hot and fresh once again! Definitely a great place to come especially since I only live 5 minutes away. Honestly avoided the place due to it being AYCE, shame on me!! Don't need to go to Mira Mesa or OC for my sushi fix!!
I am so impressed with what you can get here for just $17.99!!! Just look at these 3 beautiful rolls! The salad looks epic too and not pictured is a bowl of miso soup. Wow! And service was super fast and friendly too! I plan on coming back! Especially by myself for the 11:30-3pm lunch special window. Maybe I'll come with a friend to get the all you can eat option for dinner some time too! Just tried it and the raw salmon on the Pretty roll is super fresh. Oh damn! Red Dragon is even better! Might be my fave of the 3 because of the mix of flavors and sauces. Kamikaze is a close second to the Red Dragon. Fish is fresh and they don't skimp on the avo. Salad is super tasty too!! Yup. I'll be back. Thanks Sapporo! You made my day! What a value!
Was really looking forward to checking this place out. When we arrived, almost every table was taken inside (which was a good sign, or so I thought). DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING WITH SHRIMP. IT WAS NOT DEVEINED! The service was good, and we were constantly being checked on, and plates being taken away, but we felt very rushed to get in and get out. The bill was brought before we finished our meal, and we weren 't even given the opportunity to order another beer or digest our food. Our sushi roll came out before our edamame, which was very strange to me. The rice was too wet and not sticky, so most of the pieces were falling apart. We ordered edamame, 2 California rolls, 2 specialty rolls and 1 beer and the total was $73...that seems pricey for mediocre sushi. Make sure you pay attention to your bill, we were overcharged and had to have the bill corrected. PROS: plenty of parking clean counters and tables inside (floor was dirty) good service CONS: wet rice instead of sticky rice music playing inside made us feel like we were at a club very rushed dining experience
Another diamond in the rough this place is. Sapporo offers fantastic service even when slammed, tasty bites even when getting take-out, and a cozy atmosphere even if it 's a hole-in-the-wall . They offer some more unusual items for IE such as Hamachi Kama and Uni on occasion...definitely call in advance to check availability. But their standard menu items like chicken katsu curry and oyakodon really shine in terms of quantity, taste, and value. They really earn their five stars as I 've never had a bad experience here even when there was a line out the door. Their superior service certainly makes up for any deficiency in square footage. Overall, Sapporo is a definite staple in the local area.
Went in on a Friday afternoon 6/7. Was a little busy coming in but was seated promptly. Was given drinks and taken our order pretty quickly, but for charging $40+ for AYCE all day, which is pretty steep compared to other places around, the service after was pretty terrible. We were given our food with no utensils. The waitress with the black curly hair kept ignoring our table to do a second round of AYCE, and we had to give the paper to the one making sushi for us, which I thought was pretty odd. We never got refills on our drinks as well, until my second round came after almost 25 min of being ignored. After 10 minutes you start to get full from just waiting around, which kinda isn't the point of AYCE, but took 25 min so after that round I ended up feeling full which I felt was a waste of money. I get that there were 2 of them serving the entire restaurant, but they were focusing on other customers while our small table was being ignored and walked right past us trying to get their attention. We've had pretty much all the AYCE sushi spots around Murrieta/Temecula but this one was probably the worst experiences we've had. Not sure if it was an off day for staff but for a first time visit there left a bad experience for us and probably will not go back again. TLDR: Mediocre service, $40+ AYCE, good tasting food
