Black Crust Pizzeria - Myrdalshreppur

We tried 2 gluten free pizza, both were delicious. My partner wouldn’t have been able to tell the difference from a non-GF pizza. The staff working didn’t understand what Celiac meant but did confirm the washed everything prior to making the GF pizza. Also according to the staff all the pizza could be made GF.

As per menu, only one of the sour dough pizzas is vegan we had our pizza customized to have a black crust and it was amazing. Looked like there was lava coming of of the crust, which made it even better regarding the area Vík is located. Was not sure what to expect from the date pesto, but it was soo good!

We had cheesy garlic sticks and sour dough pizza and both were delicious. I would highly recommend this place esp the cheesy garlic sticks!

The friendliest staff, which is not a surprise in this wonderful country. The pizza is soggy and not what you would expect. It’s fine in a pinch, but do not expect authentic crust. Both sourdough and “black” crust were soggy .

This pizzeria in Vik has a friendly and welcoming vibe. The pizzas were outstanding and as good as any we’ve had in Italy. Served with a beer on tap, you couldn’t ask for a better lunch.
