Finally! My wife and I have tried numerous restaurants in Nacogdoches without much luck, but Casa Tomas is a game-changer. It tastes like a five-star chef from New York decided to settle down and whip up Mexican cuisine right here in East Texas. The food is packed with flavor—something I haven't encountered in this town until now. I've spent hundreds on meals that didn't even come close to this level of taste. Well done! We will definitely be back and will bring friends along. And don't miss out on their strawberry margaritas; they're excellent!
The food here is the best Mexican cuisine in town, and there are plenty of options to choose from. The service is excellent as well.
I have eaten at Casa Tomas many times over the years and they have (had) the best queso in Nacogdoches. Last week when we ate there, the food was terrible ?. The restaurant wasn't very busy, maybe 30% of the tables were occupied. I don't think there were more than 2 servers for the whole restaurant. Our chips, salsa, and drinks ran out for long periods of time. Our food seemed to have taken a long time to arrive, despite the restaurant being mostly empty. My husband is NOT a picky eater, and he couldn't eat his food it was so bad. Same goes for my son and myself. The taco on my plate was the only edible part of my order. Our server was either completely overwhelmed, new, or just plain inattentive.I'm not one who frequently gives poor reviews, but unfortunately this one is well deserved. We won't be going back. ?
I visited at lunch time, and the quesadillas were pretty authentic. I wish I had the chance to have the margaritas, but will definitely revisit when I am in the area.
