Hongotei Meieki - Nagoya

The best rams I've ever had in Japan. Very well known among the locals in Nagoya. Original shop is in Hongo along the Higashiyama line, therefore the name Hongo-Tei. However, the Meieki site is my personal favorite. Secondly, the store would be in Chikusa. I had all the different flavors and they are all great. My favorite is the Miso Ramen. Big pigs. Standard comes with 2 hearty pieces. You get more if so desired. If in Nagoya, I recommend trying this to your list of spots.

Delicious ramen, with generous cuts of pork, served fast along narrow counter seating. Just buy a ticket for whichever ramen type you want when you walk in, hand the ticket to one of the staff and take a seat... your order will soon be placed in front of you. Pretty bland and unexceptional food, and a very dated interior. Portion size is good, though
