Los Parrales - Nájera

Had 18 Euro pilgrim menu. Picked busiest day of the year with festival in full swing. The owner let us in early. Food and wine were delicious. In particular the cheesecake was outstanding. The owner took time out of his busy day to return my lost pilgrim passport to my hotel. Was pleasantly surprised by his kind gesture. Well worth the visit. Highly recommended.

By far the most horrible food i've been served on the camino, and trust me, when you walk 800 Km for a month, you have plenty of time to try several places with various standards. To make it simple and polite, there is no chef, everything is out of a can or industrial food just placed on your plate and warmed up, disgusting meatballs from a tv dinner, iceberg salad from the supermarket, the most greasy (brown) fries and deepfried veggies ever, i litteraly had a puddle of oil underneath the food.. If this wasn't enough, here the pilgrim's menu is more expensive than anywhere else (usually 10, here god knows why 12) A woman sent back her plate while we were waiting to be seated and left, telling me i should go somewhere else while i still can, i wanted to give it a chance, trust me and don't make the same mistake, People should be ashamed to dare serving such food, especially to pilgrim's that deserve a bit more consideration with at least decent food.

We are Peregrinos so had time for leisurely mid afternoon meal didn't mind that kitchen was slow. Service was attentive. I had minestra , bacalao. flan. Husband had ensalada mixta. chuleta de ternera flan. Waiter brought us appetizer if octopus/onion/ picked served culled. Don't know name but was delish. With meal came Murice Crianza 2010. All delicious good value for 28 E each (given pilgrim meals in town were 12.5). We enjoyed view of river. We didn't even need a snack before bed as it was so filling.

Ingredientes frescos. Trato muy amable. Terraza muy agradable.

Restaurante de toda la vida en el centro de Nájera, aparcamiento a 100 metros gratuito, dispone de una amplia y agradable terraza en la que disfrutar de la ribera del río, la atención por parte del dueño y empleados es excepcional, se nota que llevan una amplia experiencia en el mundo de la hostelería y les gusta el contacto con el público. Dispone de una barra con amplia variedad de pinchos y una carta con un menú del día, la cocina es casera y el vino que incluye el menú es de la zona, así que acierto seguro. Recomendable tanto para comer, cenar o tomar algo.
