Cassidy Country Kitchen - Nanaimo

We stopped here hoping for a quick lunch. It was anything but quick. We were seated right away (the place was empty). Two parties came in after us and they were waited on while we sat and waited. Our order was finally taken and our food took awhile to come out-after the others who came in later. Two of us had the fish and chips which was ok. One had a pizza that was burnt, tough and tasted bad. When we finished, there was no-one within sight to get us our check so we waited and waited some more. We were there much longer than expected and disappointed in the pizza. Would not go back.

Wait until you hit Nanaimo if you want to eat something decent. This place is not very good at all. It is hit or mess for sure

We've eaten here many times since opening and typically have had good service and good food. The last couple of times were very disappointing. Fish over cooked and over battered, steaks not cooked to proper temperature, lumpy, tasteless mashed potatoes and the worst packaged gravy. Even the fantastic chorizo gravy seems different as well. I sincerely hope this is just a small bump in the road and not an ongoing issue.

My husband and I have been to this restaurant a few times now and have consistently enjoyed the food. The service is good, not great. The establishment is clean and bright and parking has never been an issue.

The Hostess helped us right away, sat us in a booth and told us the specials. It was a good start. She told us our server would be with us shortly. This was not true. There were 4 servers wandering around and maybe 5 tables with people in the restaurant. As we were looking at every server that walked past us there seemed to be some discussion as to who was looking after our table. A server finally came and took our drink order and we let her know we were ready to order our meals as well. She spoke so quickly and abruptly that she was hard to understand. My 12 year old son got confused with the meat and bread options she was giving for his brunch so she started to say them really slow like she was speaking to an infant. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time but our server never came back. Our drinks were empty as we began to eat and then we sat waiting for our bill with empty plates for awhile. We finally went to the bar where all the servers would just look at us and walk on by. Very poor service from everyone involved with the exception of the Hostess and cooks. Could be a great place but we won't be returning.
