Christina's on the Lake - Nanaimo

We went here to celebrate our daughter's birthday. We were very pleased with the service and our meal. The menu has enough variety to ensure everyone can find something to enjoy. The duck and salmon were hits at our table. Excellently prepared and presented. Our wine and water glasses were empty but we never felt over served. We always felt like they valued our business. The view was lovely with their gardens and view of Westwood Lake. It was nice to see the deer still visit. The only minor thing was I had mentioned to their staff at least 3 times that it was our daughter's birthday and that when we ordered her dessert that they would please put a candle on the dessert. Sadly, this one detail was overlooked and it was a little disappointing when it arrived. They offered to go and add it after but by then the surprise element was too late. But we will forgive them this one transgression and would not hesitate to come again or recommend it to others for a s special meal.

We had a great date night at Christina's on the Lake. The two of us each tried an appy, main and dessert. Everything was fresh and delicious. Ask to try the homemade limoncello!

A week of Vancouver island dining with friends was highlighted by a fabulous evening on the lake. we were welcomed by Cristina's father Nigel, who made us feel more than welcome. Appys of clam dip and spot prawns. The spectacular wine list offered a marvelous choice of BC products. Nigel confirmed our choice with his worldly knowledge. We had pork tenderloin, chicken, and 2 orders of ling cod. Simply perfect. Grand desserts. We enjoyed a great evening of dining. My wife and I are foodies, and we have enjoyed great (and sometimes not so great) dining experiences over the last 35 years. We believe that Cristina's On the Lake is perhaps the best dining experience in Nanaimo. We seldom write reviews, however this review was a must.Great Job!RegardsJoel and Carmel Pierce

We chose Christina's on the Lake for an anniversary dinner for two because we were most interested a menu designed by the chef and owner...for flavour and presentation.. We were looking for the unique. We both feel our goal was met. The starters and entree were delicious and well plated. We would rate the meals a 5.

We stopped going to this restaurant because of the inconsistent quality and the attitude of the owner. If you have had similar concerns, put this restaurant back on your list! We reserved for 6 people in the garden. We were met with enthusiastic, helpful staff. Although this restaurant shares grounds with the tennis club, the atmosphere is lovely. The view over Westwood Lake and deer grazing on the lawn make it quite magical.The menu is not large but the variety is good.We all had applies, mains and shared desserts. Everyone was impressed! The flavors and presentation were excellent.The waiter was informed about each menu item and proud that so many things are sourced locally. He was also very educated on the wine selection and made appreciated recommendations.This is a great place for tourists to try local products. If you are a Nanaimoite, we need to support quality places like this! It wasn't nearly as busy as it should be! Its a great place to bring visitors!
