Curry Point - Nanaimo

Curry Point is a real Nanaimo gem, allways fresh allways fantastic choice , very flavourful, when needing a good wholesome curry for lunch this is my first choice, great price excellent service. The best Samosa's in Nanaimo without a doubt. I try to eat from here at least once a week and if in that part of town then twice.

Great variety, exceptional quality and amazing staff. If you have not tried this place it is a must eat!!

This is a convenient little place for take-out indian food in a hurry. The selections don't vary much and I wasn't able to order off the menu, just the pre-cooked food which was good but I really wanted some pakora. The food is mildly spiced so ask for the chutney or pepper sauce if you like it hotter. Go earlier as it does seem to sit for awhile.

I photographed the opening of Country Club Mall back in the early 80's. The thing that impressed me the most was the scrumptious spread the developers laid out for the media and dignitaries at the event. I was impressed. As expected the mall has gotten a bit tired over the intervening years ... nothing to distinguish itself from a gazillion other similar malls across the country - except for Curry Point. I don't usually default to food court fare but I was starving and the Chili Chicken in the warmer was looking good. The person behind the counter kindly offer a sample and I was sold. I had a combination of Chili Chicken and Vegetable Curry over rice. Delicious - The Chili Chicken was melt in your mouth tender with a "to die for" flavor profile. The vegetable curry also excellent. The combo came with a warm piece of nan bread. The meal hit the spot - and it was cheap..

As the other reviews belong say, ownership has changed but it is now owned by a wonderful young man who is an amazing cook who's service is outstanding. We order the takeout sizes and three main dishes with a rice is enough to feed 5 people very well. The food is delicious and the variety is excellent. The owner also makes a wonderful cilantro sauce that can be added to any of the menu items. This food is fantastic!! We ordered take out from another place in Nanaimo and had to fish through the sauce to find the meat - not so from Curry Point! It is our go-to place for great Indian food and we highly recommend it even though it is not a "sit-down" restaurant but has seating in the food court.
