Feedback gevenWhile my recent review is favourable, and remains as such, I must mention that there is one thing that should be addressed, that being the bill, or receipt'.When the meal is finished, it is quite normal, expected or even customary to have the bill dropped at the table, for review, consideration, and possible discussion by the patron, patrons or customer, since it is normal to share payment, check the order or chip in tips. This is part and parcel of the dining experience. Here at Pho a Dong, you are not brought the bill, and are forced to linger at the counter to endure some delay, calculation, and determinations which is inconvenient and not appreciated, lowering the level of service expected at any restaurant.Paying at or from the table is greatly preferred by a majority of diners and should be the order of business.Change should be made to change that !If it were not for this detail the dining experience at Pho a Dong would be far improved and customers would be fully accorded the flexibility to examine the bill and assemble payment from the comfort of their table where the meal took place.
This is the BEST hot and sour seafood soup on the planet. They start with home made chicken stock. It's amazing and the portions are large!
Spartan, drab, but clean hole in the wall in the old quarter but cannot complain .Street parking, small establishment .Nice service! Tea for two brought right away, and lemon water a nice touch !Ordered beef pho soups, one with rare sliced beef and the other a spicier brisket. Both of us gave a two thumbs up. Delicious, fresh, tasty, and memorable !Spring rolls were fresh and yummy also.I will be back and have every expectation that the rest of the menu will be a pleasant surprise !
Nice atmosphere and good service but pretty average Vietnamese fare. Not terrible but not as good as we'd hoped based on reviews. Spring rolls were greasy, soup just ok.
This restaurant is a 5 minute walk from downtown and has an unassuming decor. I had the special pho and it was delicious. The broth was very tasty with a great sweet tang. The soup was served with the expected basil and bean sprouts. The place was full at lunch and is clearly a local favourite.
