Brunch Very rich, varied and greedy! The cheeses are carefully selected, the charcuterie is delicious, and the dishes connect in a beacon of waiters and good moods for ever more treats! Be ready to go rolling or prefer the nap the digestive little walk to help you in this adventure! I'll be back again, but first a nap is needed!
It is one of Nancy’s most famous establishments, located in a very tourist street, the Grande Rue. The owners of the Marchand cheese factory, famous for its "Gross Lorrain", opened this restaurant in 2013. It has two very different style rooms on both sides of the cheese shop and a large terrace on the street. No card but a ten-page "Small Journal of the Marchand Brothers" where the countless dishes and drinks of the house are described. The house offers three menus (30, 35 and 44 euros), all in four services, including 3 refined cheeses. You must have a strong appetite because the parts are very hearty. We preferred to take à la carte dishes at our two dinners. The preparation of the "cooked veal head" served in a caquelon like a fondue, surprised us. The same thing for “Gre Lorrain’s Frog” where the main ingredient is lost. On the other hand, no surprise with the classic flamenkueche, very good. A welcoming restaurant, with excellent value for money.
A good evening spent tonight with a warm welcome and a great waitress (thank you Odile). The vegetarian menu at €26 was excellent. The setting of the restaurant with all its photos is very pleasant. I'll tell you soon.
What a beautiful place. Growing and bursting. The historic centre of Nancy still alive and animated by Stanislas himself. Each building that composes it is responsible for history and represents a high cultural place... Town hall, opera, queen's grand hotel, museum of fine arts and other elegant cafés. Each of its outings and each of its angles is adorned with grandiose doors or golden ironworks.
