Le Boeuf dans la Rue Restaurant - Nancy

The restaurant is located just off the main square, called Stanislaus Square, in the center of a street full of restaurants. Each has their menus displayed and we choose this one by looks and price. The main downside was that the menus were only in French and the servers spoke very little as well. The three course menu was 20 euros and this included a full salad and dessert as well as nice dinner. The food was of good quality, but the beef was a bit tough (Not unusual in France). The fish and burger were excellent. The prices were middle range with some higher and some lower.

Even after 2pm, you may order typical regional dishes from meat or fish. Beware: Large quantities are served ! Huge salads. Friendly service, in both medium-sized rooms.

My friends and I have been there for lunch. Right when we sat down we told the server that we would not have plenty of time (1.30h). we ordered the lunch special (tomato&mozarella and a steak with fries) and a burger. After an hour we finally got the salad and 30 minutes later our entrees. The meats were dry and not medium at all and the server was rude and almost started yelling at us that it wouldn't have been her fault after we complained again about the waiting time. NEVER EVER AGAIN!

The place looks nice and quiet inside and the service was quick and friendly. We got the burgers which were handmade and very tasty. Very nice food indeed!

I had the snails and the chicken salad (La fraicheur, I think). It was delicious. Service was a bit slow (it took about an hour) but seemed about usual for France. The server was working very hard. Don't know if they needed more staff.
