Our family lives in Metz and we visit every year I had found some good reviews on this restaurant from Trip Advisor and my cousin confirmed.
Set in a quiet side street away from the main restaurant area, Le Panama provides a superb setting for a meal. We had two tapas (meat and seafood) which were prepared to a high standard and excellent value for money. The cheerful staff were very helpful and contributed to making the evening a very enjoyable experience.
Many couples and small groups came it to enjoy the foreign food and drinks in Le Panama -- Mojitos and fajitas! Fajitas came from Texas, but don't think it's a Tex-Mex / Tejano place. First, there are the French sensibilities: Silky guacamole instead of chunky, fajitas pre-rolled to be eaten with knife and fork rather than wrap-it-yourself and pick it up -- dripping -- to eat. More than that, it is the elegant touches of freshly prepared tortilla and purple-potato chips; the side garnishes of raspberries, mango, sour cream, radish slices; the delicious mix of tapas-style appetizers served on a piece of slate. The wine is way better than the Texas wines I've had, too!
