A' Lucianella - Napoli

We serendipitously came up on this little trattoria after being disappointed to see that the place we were navigating to was closed. We were looking for seafood, and the posted menu was exactly what we were looking for. The printed menu was in black white and entirely in Italian always a good sign. We were not disappointed. The food was outstanding and the service equally good. A'Lucianella is a quiet, charming refuge from the wonderful chaos that is Napoli. Highly recommended.

A warm welcome from a wonderful restaurant off the path of a bustling street. We sat outside and really enjoyed being able to people watch. The staff were so friendly and helpful. I was helped with what options could be made gluten free and assured that the food would be cooked separately. I got the caprese for starters which was delicious and penne with a tomato, mozzarella and basil sauce. I had great intentions to take photos and it quickly disappeared from the plate! Hoping to get back there again before the end of our trip.

So DISAPPOINTED in this place after that stupid last review about gluten free food here! Maybe they were having an off night where they couldn’t take the order correctly not just for what I wanted but also mixed up the tables……apart from that , my crappy seafood of squid and octopus was burnt and tasted like burnt hair!! Nasty! My husband’s lasagne apparently tasted like tomato paste straight from a bottle with no salt or basil added! Disgusting food…….should have left when they said no gluten free!

We stopped by chance and attracted by the external menu, different then from the internal one. we requested pasta and potatoes that were not present and we were satisfied with two beautiful abundant portions. kitchen from grandmother's house and abundant portions. on arrival a plate of pancakes with algae offers.

I found the best omelettes of napoli. great courtesy of the managers. excellent value for money. recommended!
