Old English Fish N' Chips Naremburn

The signs read 'Olde Fashioned' or 'Old English', but it feels less authentically English. The fish is quite mushy, although the chips are better in texture. However, it does embody the traditional Australian style: basic fish coated in a crispy batter, along with fairly crispy chips (requesting them 'well-done' definitely makes a difference) at affordable prices.

The name truly reflects the essence of this establishment. It's a classic fish and chip shop that really knows how to do it right. While the fresh seafood can be on the pricier side, the standard offerings like fish, chips, scallops, and sides are very reasonably priced. They also consistently offer a great selection of fresh, unique salads. There’s some outdoor seating available, and parking is limited next door.

The fish was beautifully prepared and cooked to perfection. The calamari rings were seasoned just right, delivering a delightful tangy flavor with the perfect amount of spice. They were tender and practically fell apart. This is truly a local gem. My partner and I will definitely be coming back.

Best fish and Chips I've had for years. We live in Lanecove, discovered this place yesterday, we had the baramundi battered, must try the calamari rings. we'll be back.

Decided to pick up some fish and chips for my son on the way home from work last week. Have lived in the area for a while, but have never purchased from here. When I initially walked in to order I was apprehensive as the shop hasn't looked like it had been cleaned for years. I decided that ill give it a go! Ordered crumbed fish and some potato scallops. When I got home my wife cut into the fish and asked me if it was cooked as it was still soft. It was cooked, however the fish was very gelatinous and slimy. We decided not to eat the fish -at least we had some potato scallops... although we didnt eat these either, they were way too greasy. Binned the whole meal and went to another local fish shop.
