Very popular place and for good reasons. we were a party of 12 just a nearby walk ended and I just called 15 minutes before I arrived to reserve a table. the outside seats were full and reserved for the rest of the lunchtime, but the host could no longer come before. she had several tables pushed together and sat ready for us at the arrival, although otherwise the restaurant was packed. the indoor dining room has a cozy atmosphere. the selection of food includes many vegetarian dishes. several are vegan and several more can be made vegan. for the appetizers I had the vegan suppe of the day — tomato white bean — and it was thick and delicious, with interesting flavors. my main course was the heron veggie burger, vegan made by spending the cheese and substituting a black bonsalate for kartoffelsalat. beautiful combination of nice on the delicious burger. three of my companions razed over the Mac cheese with Ccheddar-Mernay sauce, caramelized wobble and a crispy garlic bread crumb baked topping. our server was attentive and error-free, and to our surprise still happy volunteer at the end to separate the controls for our complicated combination of singles and couples. we had resigned to spend time to make it ourselves, so their offer was a wonderful end to a satisfying culinary experience.

For beginners I had the vegan soup of the day — tomato-white bean — and it was thick and delicious, with interesting spices. My main course was the Heron veggie burger, made vegan by suspending the cheese and replacing a black bean salad for potato salad. Beautiful combination of vegetables on the delicious burger. Three of my companions shaved over the Mac cheese with Cheddar Mornay sauce, caramelized onions and a crunchy garlic bread crumb baked topping. Our server was attentive and error-free, and to our surprise still joyfully at the end of honor to separate the controls for our complicated combination of singles and pairs. We went for brunch at The Heron twice -- once because of a story we saw in a local magazine, the second because of the meal we had the first time. The
